About Us
Since its founding in 1988, CareerSmiths has fostered the professional advancement of people living in Greater Madison and throughout Wisconsin. We have been ready, willing, and able to do whatever it takes to help our diverse clientele with their self-directed career development. Our services range from résumé and cover letter writing to work on interviewing, information gathering, and lead identification.

We work with people who vary from new college graduates to top executives and from those seeking high-tech jobs to those who exhibit strong people and service skills. We take pride in our ability to combine a spirit of old-time craftsmanship with use of today's technology to provide the services our clients require.

This site is a natural outgrowth of our work with more than 4,000 clients over the past 19 years. Our expansion into cyberspace will continue to be shaped by our focus on the local community and its economy and our commitment to one-on-one personal service. We are still only a visit or call away.

On our site, you can see what services we offer, including the corresponding fees. The site's features - the career guide, discussion groups, Q&A zone, and articles - facilitate the exchange of ideas, information, and support that is so essential to any effective career development campaign. Its job and résumé posting pages provide a direct way for local employers and jobseekers to get together. Our growing collection of relevant links should help you manage the daunting task of searching out and evaluating the many career-related resources on the internet. Finally, the site helps us better serve jobseekers and employers throughout Dane County.

We invite your feedback and ideas regarding things we can do to be even more helpful.
